Full-stack product development
New applications from an empty repository to production — React and TypeScript at the front, a real data layer behind it, running on infrastructure you own.
Available for new projects
I'm Jonathan — a senior software engineer building enterprise-grade web applications with elegant code and an eye for detail. You get working software in front of real users early, then we sharpen it together.
Illustrative — small releases, shipped continuously.
Services
Four kinds of work, one engineer. Take the whole build, or the piece your team can't get to.
New applications from an empty repository to production — React and TypeScript at the front, a real data layer behind it, running on infrastructure you own.
Interfaces that hold up under real use — accessible components, fast first paint, and screens nobody has to be trained to operate.
Containers, clusters and pipelines that make releases boring — repeatable builds on GCP or AWS, and a deploy path your team can run without me.
Schemas that fit the domain instead of fighting it, queries that stay quick as the table grows, and APIs other developers find pleasant to consume.
The stack
Chosen because they fit the problem — not because they were on a slide.
How I work
A release in front of real users teaches you more in a week than a specification does in a month. So we start there, and we keep going.
The first release is deliberately narrow, and it goes to production. Real usage settles arguments that meetings cannot.
Each cycle is shaped by what actually happened last cycle, and each one ends with something better in production. No big-bang launches.
Error states, empty states, slow connections and the audit trail get the same attention as the landing page. That is where usability is won.
Selected work
Shipped under DevCanopy, my own software studio — built and maintained exactly the way I build for clients.
Collaborative retrospective boards for agile teams — real-time cards, voting, affinity grouping and retros that recur on their own.
retrocanvas.io ↗Anonymous engineering-experience surveys tracked across six research-backed dimensions, so tooling pain shows up as a trend line and not as attrition.
devclimate.com ↗A structured, cohort-based discovery program for engineers weighing the move into management. Enter with a question, leave with an answer.
foraylab.io ↗A GitHub App that spots breaking third-party API changes, finds every affected call site and opens a pull request with the fix — yours to review.

About
I'm a senior software engineer and full-stack web developer. I build enterprise-grade applications with elegant code, focused on usability and a genuinely positive experience for the person on the other side of the screen.
I have an eye for detail and I like helping people. Agile Development Consulting is how I bring that to teams who need an experienced pair of hands — whether that's building the thing, or unblocking the thing.
Tell me what you're working on and where it's stuck. I read every message, and I'll tell you honestly if I'm not the right fit.
